We understand that visiting Kedarnath is a dream for most of us, but it’s not possible to visit here again and again due to the large distance from Pune. This thought made us create a package in which we are not only going to cover the Kedarnath temple, but also a dozen other important locations en route, which can make the trip fulfilling.
Haridwar: It is the primary gateway to the Kedarnath Yatra. You can explore the evening Ganga Aarti, Har Ki Pauri Ghat, ancient temples, and the local market in Haridwar at your own cost.
Devprayag: Located just 95 km from Haridwar, Devprayag Sangam is our first sightseeing on the route to Kedarnath, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi meet. It is famous as the origin of the Ganga and part of the Panch Prayag in Uttarakhand.
Dhari Devi Temple: Our second sightseeing is the Dhari Devi Temple, dedicated to the incarnation of Maa Kali, where the upper half of Maa Dhari Devi is worshipped. We stop here for 30 minutes to get darshan and explore the site.
Rudraprayag: The third place is Rudraprayag Sangam, a major stop on the way to Kedarnath. Just 20 km from Dhari Devi and easily accessible in 40-45 minutes. Here we take a short tea break and witness the scenic confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers.
Gaurikund: Gaurikund is a small town just 32 km away from Guptkashi. It is the base camp for the Kedarnath trek, so we also visit here before the trek and explore the natural hot springs and the Gauri Devi temple.
Bhim Shila: After the Kedarnath Darshan, we visit the sacred rock, Bhim Shila in Kedarnath, just behind the temple. Pilgrims visit here to offer a Tilak as gratitude to the protector of the shrine.
Bhairavnath Temple: We trek 800 meters above the main shrine to reach Bhairavnath (the guardian deity of Kedarnath and the Kedar Valley), as it is believed that the yatra remains incomplete without visiting here.
Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi: The next place we cover is a memorial site of the great sage and philosopher, Adi Shankaracharya. The site is near the temple, where he took the Samadhi.
Retas Kund: We also visit this small pond just a few meters from Kedarnath. Famous for its unique feature that the water of this holy kund bubbles when devotees chant “Om Namah Shivaaye.”

Kedarnath Ghoda/Palki/Pitthu Service is another trek assistance service for the Kedarnath trek from Gaurikund. Upon your preference, our guide will provide booking assistance and arrangements at your cost, or you can include this in your package. For those unable to trek, Ghoda/Palki services are ideal for senior citizens.
If you wish to perform any special puja at the Kedarnath Temple or want to avoid long waiting hours in the Darshan line during peak season, you can choose VIP Darshan at Kedarnath, which can be booked online via the BKTC committee or offline at a designated booking counter.

Your journey to the divine Kedarnath temple starts with a train journey from Pune. We will book your 3rd AC train ticket for the popular train, Jhelum Exp (11077), which departs at 5:20 PM from Pune Junction and reaches New Delhi Railway Station at 9:20 PM, taking almost 27-28 hours.
Note: If you want a faster option rather than a long train journey, you can also opt for flight tickets from Pune to Delhi/Dehradun at an additional cost. In Delhi, you will stay in a hotel provided in the package.
You need to reach the designated hotel from the railway station at your own cost. After reaching the hotel, you will get your dinner served, enjoy the dinner, and rest in your room. Note: Hotel and travel details will be provided to you a day before starting the trip.
The next day, you will have your breakfast in the same hotel in Delhi. After breakfast, check out of the hotel and reach Delhi’s ISBT Kashmere Gate at your own convenience. A Volvo bus will pick you up around 9:00 AM from the ISBT Kashmere Gate.
We book your bus ticket on a Volvo from Delhi to Haridwar Bus Stand as per your preferred time. The journey from Delhi to Haridwar covers around 225-240 km and takes almost 6-7 hours. You will reach Haridwar by evening. From the bus stand, reach the allotted hotel at your convenience.
Check into your hotel and relax for some time. You can explore Haridwar at your own cost. Experience the mesmerising Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri Ghat, spend some time, and feel the divine energy. Also, you can visit the local market and try street food.
After that, you can return to your hotel, where you will get your dinner. After dinner, rest in your room, as tomorrow we are going on a long road journey.
On the third day, you will get your breakfast at the same hotel in Haridwar. After breakfast, reach the Haridwar Railway Station at your convenience. Travellers are requested to reach the pickup location before 6:00 AM. Note: The exact pickup time will be updated in the group by the driver. Now we are going to cover over 200 km, taking around 8-10 hours, passing through scenic Himalayan towns. We will cover the sights along the route and take short breaks. Your first stop on the journey will be Devprayag, the most famous of the Panch Prayag, around 97 km from Haridwar.
Here, we take a 15-20 minute halt to witness the scenic confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers. Then we head toward our second sightseeing place, the Dhari Devi temple, which is another 47 km away and takes 1-2 hours to reach. Here, we stay for around 30 minutes to seek darshan and capture the beauty of the temple in the middle of the Alaknanda River. From there, we will continue further to reach our next sightseeing, Rudraprayag, where we halt for a short tea break and to witness the holy Rudraprayag Sangam (meeting place of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers) while sitting at a nearby local shop.
After completing this sightseeing, we will move forward to the Musafir Resort in Guptkashi. We will reach there by evening. Our staff will greet you there and will allot you the rooms. After checking in, you can take a rest and feel refreshed. Then, the staff will serve you dinner, freshly cooked with regional spices. After dinner, you will get to enjoy the evening at Guptkashi Resort, and if the weather permits, we will have a bonfire with music under the starry sky.
Here, your trek guide will provide a briefing session, explaining the next day's travel plan, especially the trek. He will explain what common mistakes to avoid, how to trek, what the pace should be, and share some tips and tricks. After enjoying, you can go back to your room and get a good sleep, as tomorrow you are going to reach the temple by trek.
On the day of darshan, our guide will make a wake-up call around 3:00 AM, so wake up early and get ready, as today is a very special day of your journey. Temple kapat opens at 5:00 AM for general darshan. We suggest our travellers join the Darshan queues early morning for a smooth Darshan experience in the inner sanctum by 7:00 AM. After Kedarnath Darshan, we cover some nearby attractions.
Firstly, we visit the Bhim Shila just after the darshan, then the Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi. After that, we visit the Bhairavnath Temple, dedicated to the guardian deity of the valley and the shrine. At last, we will visit the Retas Kund to witness the mystery of bubbles. After completing the sightseeing, we will return to the hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, we will check out and get ready for the return journey in the same manner. First, we will trek down to Gaurikund, which is relatively very easy and takes less time. From Gaurikund, our guide will arrange a taxi to reach Sonprayag, where our vehicle is parked. From Sonprayag, we are returning to the Musafir Resort in Guptkashi. We will reach Guptkashi by late evening; then the staff will allot the room. Check in and take a rest properly. You will get dinner, and after dinner, rest in your rooms.
We will start early from Guptkashi; prepare yourself for a long return journey to Rishikesh. We will provide breakfast at the Guptkashi resort. After breakfast, we will depart from Guptkashi for Rishikesh around 7:00 AM, covering over 200 km and taking around 6-7 hours.
You have a chance to get a glimpse of snow-capped and lush green mountain peaks one more time. The vehicle will stop at fewer viewpoints for lunch and tea breaks. We aim to reach Rishikesh by 2:00 PM, as we provide complimentary river rafting in Rishikesh, one of the adventurous activities.
Enjoy the 12 km river rafting from Brahmpuri to Rishikesh Tapovan. From there, you need to reach your hotel in Rishikesh at your own convenience. After reaching the hotel, get freshened up, then have dinner. After dinner, you can take a rest in your room.
On the last day, you will have your breakfast in the same hotel. After breakfast, reach the Nepali Farm at your own convenience. We will book your bus ticket as per your preferred time. A Volvo bus will pick you up from the Nepali Farm.
From there, you will reach Delhi ISBT Kashmere Gate by evening, covering around 248 km in 6-7 hours by road. From ISBT Kashmere Gate, reach New Delhi Railway Station at your own convenience by cab/auto. Make sure to arrive at the railway station at least half an hour before the train time.
We will book your train tickets in 3 AC for NZM Pune Spl (01492), from Delhi to Pune. The train will arrive at 9:25 PM at the Delhi Railway Station, which will drop you off at Pune Junction at 11:25 PM the next day.
