Devprayag: Devprayag, known as the birthplace of the holy Ganga river and one of the sacred Panch Prayag. It is the place where Alaknanda and Bhagirathi meet. Generally, we stop here for a local exploration and sightseeing.
Rudraprayag: Rudraprayag is the revered confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. It serves as the main stop for the Kedarnath and Badrinath Yatra.
Dhari Devi Temple: Dhari Devi is a revered shrine dedicated to Goddess Dhari, believed to be the incarnation of Goddess Kali. It is widely known as the protected deity of the Char Dham circuits, located on the banks of the Alaknanda River.
Upper half of Maa Kali is being worshipped here while the lower half is believed to be at Kalimath temple near Kedarnath.
In our Kedarnath package, we halt here for darshan and offering prayers before heading to Kedarnath.
For the 2026 pilgrimage season, the Kedarnath temple opening date is announced on Mahashivratri (15 February 2026). The Kedarnath temple is set to open on 22 April 2026, following the opening of other char dham circuits, Yamunotri and Gangotri.
While the closing date 2026 is not announced yet, based on the observation of past years, the tentative closing date is 11 November 2026, coinciding with Bhai Dooj.
The best time to visit Kedarnath is from May to June (in summer) and September to October (in Autumn), these periods offer pleasant weather, clear views, and great accessibility, making it an ideal time for pilgrimage and sightseeing.
While monsoon (July to August) is not a good time to visit Kedarnath, as it experiences heavy rain that causes landslides and road blockage, making travel risky. During the winter, the temple remained closed due to heavy snowfall, and the idol of Lord Kedarnath is shifted to his winter abode, Omakaseshwar temple in Ukhimath.
