The Kedarnath yatra is different from other pilgrimages. It can be overwhelming for many travellers due to complex logistics and requirements, such as mandatory registration, a strenuous trek, and hotel and transportation bookings in the mountain region.
Customer safety is our priority. Unlike the many travellers, we are very familiar with the Kedarnath region’s tropical and climate conditions; our team works continuously on monitoring the route and weather conditions to ensure a safe pilgrimage journey for our guests.
Bonus: Complimentary River Rafting

So, being your ultimate travel partner and local tour operator, our aim is to make this sacred journey more accessible, safe, and comfortable for everyone by simplifying logistics.
We provide all the necessary amenities for a hassle-free experience. Our professional and essential services make us stand out, as our drivers have years of experience driving on hilly mountain roads. They are well informed about important stops, viewpoints, and alternate routes that help to navigate circumstances like heavy traffic in peak season.
The guides we provide in Kedarnath trips are certified in mountaineering training and trekking, with the ability to tackle any medical emergency; if someone is facing breathing issues, we will provide an oxygen cylinder or any other first aid essentials (if needed).
He will brief you about the trek, what you should do, and what mistakes you should avoid to ensure smooth coordination.
What makes us unique is our dedicated professional team, assisting with on-ground support throughout the journey. Most of our team members are from Uttarakhand, which emphasises our role as a local tour operator with destination expertise.
Our team, especially the staff of Musafir Resort, is well-known for its best services, helping travellers with check-in and check-out.
These are some unique features that make us completely different from others. Guess what? Our dedicated tour manager helps with alternate arrangements when needed.
Travellers who choose our private Mumbai to Kedarnath tour package can customise their tours according to their requirements and preferences for a personalised experience.
The following are the services that you can customise in your tour:

To ensure a safe, comfortable, memorable, and more personalised experience, we provide a bunch of additional services that you can include in your package for a more convenient yatra.
You can extend your Kedarnath trip if there is some other destination in your mind that you want to visit. Some suggested places that can be visited along with the Kedarnath yatra:
The Kedarnath trek is strenuous and physically demanding due to the long distance and high altitude. This is where the Kedarnath Ghoda/palki service becomes a helpful alternative for those who cannot trek.
You can ask our guide to arrange these services, available from Sonprayag and Gaurikund and generally operated on a fixed price.
Helicopter service for Kedarnath is the most in demand among pilgrims, as it can be provided only through the official government portal of IRCTC Heliyatra. It operates from Phata, Sirsi, and Guptkashi and allows one to avoid the long trek, ideal for senior citizens and time-bound travellers.
We provide booking services for a helicopter yatra. You can contact our customer executive on “87961 23073“ for details.
Note: Booking can be made only through the IRCTC HeliYatra, so avoid any unauthorised agent.
To avoid long darshan queues during peak season, the Kedarnath VIP Darshan is a premium service provided by the temple committee. It allows travellers to get a faster entry to the shrine. It can be booked online via the official site of the BKTC committee and offline at a designated counter.
You can tell our guide to get the VIP passes, and he will secure a slot in advance for you, especially during peak season, as availability is limited.

One of the primary things to know before planning is the Kedarnath opening and closing dates, as it is a seasonal site that opens only for a very short time in summer from April/May to October and is closed in winter due to heavy snowfall.
For more details on this, like who decides these, how, and when the temple is open and closed, check our guide on Kedarnath Opening and Closing dates.
The best time for Kedarnath is from May to June and September to October. For senior citizens, families, and pilgrims with kids, May to June is ideal. For a peaceful darshan and fewer crowds, you should visit in September or October.
We generally advise avoiding the monsoon (July to August), as it is not safe due to heavy rain and landslide risk. And, during the winter season, Kedarnath is closed for devotees due to heavy snowfall and harsh weather.
Registration for Kedarnath is a must-do thing before visiting Kedarnath. Without a valid E-pass, no one is allowed to proceed on their journey beyond entry checkpoints en route. So, pilgrims are advised to complete their registration first.
In our Kedarnath package from Mumbai, we provide you with complete registration assistance, so you don’t need to worry about that.
You can easily reach Kedarnath from Mumbai by combining your air or train journey with road travel, and you must complete the final stretch, a trek, to reach the temple.
For a detailed guide, read our blog on the Mumbai to Kedarnath Guide.
Packing is crucial for the Kedarnath yatra, as the shrine is located in a remote region of Uttarakhand. To make your journey safe and hassle-free, pack light but smart.
Below is a quick checklist of must-carry items for Kedarnath:
Note: Must carry cash; there are so many famous things to buy in Kedarnath, but digital payments may not work everywhere due to poor networks.
In our Kedarnath group tour from Mumbai, on the first day, you will start your journey from Mumbai to reach Haridwar. We will book your train ticket in advance for the BDTS HW Exp in 3rd AC.
The train departs from Bandra Terminus at 12:20 AM and will arrive at 7:50 AM at Haridwar Junction the next day. The complete train journey from Mumbai to Haridwar will take around 32 hours.
We advise travellers to arrive at the station 30-40 minutes before departure and get comfortable in their seat.
Note: As per your preferred date, we will book your train ticket to other possible options, like TVCN YRNK SF Exp (22659) and BDTS HW SF Exp (22917).
Note: If you have less time or are planning a private trip and want air travel from Mumbai to Dehradun instead of the train, then we can also assist with air ticket booking service.
After arrival at Haridwar Junction, you need to reach the hotel at your own convenience. Many cabs and shuttle services are available from the railway station. The hotel details will be provided a day before the trip.
After reaching the designated hotel, a room will be allotted to you. Comfortably relax there to reduce travel fatigue, then have breakfast in the same place. You can even cover some popular attractions in Haridwar on your own, such as visiting Har Ki Pauri Ghat to take a sacred bath, attending the auspicious evening Ganga Aarti, and exploring the local market of Haridwar.
After completing the sightseeing, you can get back to your hotel. Dinner is also included in your package. After dinner, relax in your room for the next day.
On the third day, after breakfast at our hotel in Haridwar, we will pick you up from Haridwar Railway Station around 5:30 AM and drive towards Guptkashi. You must reach the pickup location at your own cost. In this route segment, we will cover over 200 km, and it will take around 8-10 hours to complete. Passing via a scenic mountain road and Rishikesh.
Our first sightseeing will be Devprayag Sangam, where the two beautiful rivers, Alaknanda and Bhagirathi, meet. Here we halt for 15-20 minutes to witness the holy confluence and to capture the scenic beauty of the surroundings. Then our second stop will be at the Dhari Devi Temple, which is around 48 km away from Devprayag and takes almost 1-2 hours to reach. The temple is dedicated to Maa Dhari Devi (an incarnation of Goddess Kali).
We halt here for 30-40 minutes to seek the divine blessing for safe travel. Our third halt is Rudraprayag, a popular town around 19 km from Dhari Devi. The site is renowned as one of the five revered confluences, Panch Prayag. Travellers can take a short 15-minute tea break and enjoy the beautiful views of the meeting rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini by sitting at a local dhabha or a resting point.
Now, finally, we will move forward to our stay in Guptkashi, which is around 45 km away. We will reach there by evening, and our representative will greet you there and will allot your room. Check into your room at the Musafir resort in Guptkashi. There will be your dinner, freshly made with local spices.
After dinner, you will meet your guide at the resort, and he will give you some tips and tricks for trekking and will brief you about the whole trip. Moreover, there will be a bonfire, music, and games, and you will definitely enjoy the experience with beautiful views and cosy vibes. Then, take a rest in your room and acclimatise properly for the next day.
The fourth day is another very long travel segment of your Kedarnath trip. We start early, around 4:00 AM, driving on a single-lane road from Guptkashi to Gaurikund to avoid heavy traffic.
The vehicle we provide will drop you at Sonprayag, as private vehicles are not allowed beyond it. For a 5 km stretch from Sonprayag to Gaurikund, our guide will arrange a government shuttle taxi, included in the package.
At Gaurikund, you can take a sacred bath in a hot spring, visit Gauri Devi Temple and then have your breakfast. After breakfast, you will start the 16 km trek with our guide, who will help you navigate the challenging terrain. Generally, we start our trek by 7 AM.
You will find small stalls and eateries along the trek route, but we advise avoiding heavy meals; eat light, such as fruits, energy bars, and dried fruits during the trek. We aim to complete the trek by 5 to 6 PM, as trekking after sunset can be risky in the mountains. After completing the trek, you will check into your hotel just near the temple (within 100 meters) on a quad-sharing basis. Take some rest and attend the divine evening Aarti. Then enjoy your dinner at your stay and sleep properly.
This is the special day of your Kedarnath yatra, as you are going to experience a most divine moment that you have been waiting for. Our guide will make a wake-up call at 3:00 AM, so get ready and join the Darshan queue.
The Kedarnath temple opens around 5:00 AM for Darshan. In the early morning, you will get a very smooth darshan by 7:00 AM. After that, we will visit the nearby attractions in Kedarnath, including Bhim Shila, Bhairavnath Temple, Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi, and Retas Kund, located at a short walking distance from the temple.
Then we will provide you with breakfast. After breakfast, we will start trekking down to Gaurikund on the same route. It will take around 5 to 6 hours to reach there. On reaching Gaurikund, we will move to Sonprayag by a shuttle taxi service arranged by the guide. Due to heavy traffic, our vehicle may not be able to assist you here; it will park at the nearby village, Sitapur, so you may reach there by a short walk of 15 to 20 mins.
We will get back to the Musafir resort in Guptkashi. Our staff will allot you a room and serve you dinner. Stay there one night, then we’ll move further the next day.
You will get your breakfast at Musafir Resort in Guptkashi. We will start our return journey to Haridwar between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM, reaching Rishikesh by 2:00 PM.
In Rishikesh, we provide complimentary river rafting from Brahmapuri to Rishikesh Tapovan, which is about 12 km. After enjoying 12 km of river rafting, you will need to proceed to Haridwar from Rishikesh Tapovan, which is around 27.6 km.
You can take a bus or book a cab, or a taxi at your own convenience. After reaching Haridwar, you need to reach your hotel, where you will have dinner. Explore local markets and spend some time at the divine Har Ki Pauri Ghat. Have your dinner and relax at your hotel.
On this day, you can visit nearby ghats and temples during the daytime. Your return journey will be on the same train, departing from Haridwar at 1:30 PM. We request that you arrive at the station at least half an hour before your departure time, at your convenience, from the hotel. We will board the train and will bid goodbye to the Devbhoomi with a heart full of memories.
