The journey from Rishikesh to Lohajung is going to be 10-11 hours long. It offers the scenic views of the Shivalik hills and the Ganga River. Our first major stop on the day one journey is Devprayag, located around 70 km from Rishikesh. Here we take a short break to witness the sacred confluence of the Alaknanda and the Bhagirathi rivers. It is a particularly scenic stretch, known for its great views of lush greenery and a glimpse of flowing water.
The route continuously flows to the Alaknanda River upstream and makes a stop at the Dhari Devi temple (an ancient shrine dedicated to Goddess Kali). Halt here for half an hour to seek to offer a prayer to the deity. After that, we pass through Rudraprayag, another scenic confluence (one of the Panch Prayag) where the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers meet. Offering the impressive views of lush green peaks. Then we will pass through Karnaprayag, another confluence point of the Alaknanda and the Pindar rivers. Here, the terrain becomes more mountainous and the air crisper.
Then, heading towards the final stretch of today's route segment, Lohajung village (Primary base camp for the Brahma Tal trek), as you approach, you will experience a more serene and alpine environment. As you reach Lohajung, we will provide you with a stay in a tourist rest house. Check into your room and take a rest. Stay a night here and enjoy your dinner.
